At Faith United we feel that it’s important to not only have a Statement of Faith, but also a statement of our mission, vision, and purpose…in other words, why we do what we do. These are the Values that drive us as a church and compel us as believers to reach out with the love and grace that is ours through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Mission:  The mission of Faith United Church is to be a church that is focused on Christ and pursuing His purposes for us.  We will be a church that touches the heart of our community, county, nation, and world with the Gospel and the Love of Jesus Christ.

Vision:  United in Faith…United in Love…United in Christ!

Purpose:  The purpose of Faith United Church is share the truth and love of Jesus Christ to all those who don’t know Him; to bring new believers into the Kingdom of God and help all believers grow to be like Christ.  This is accomplished by equipping believers to reach out with the relevant message as Christ as our Savior, in the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:1-39).

Achievement of Purpose:  Faith United Church seeks to achieve its purpose through:

• Worship – We seek to celebrate God’s goodness and presence in worship.  Our worship is not manipulative, but in Spirit and Truth (John 4:24).  We practice Spirit-filled worship, where people are free to worship as the Spirit wills:  with upraised hands; kneeling, dancing, sitting in His presence quietly; practicing Spiritual gifts as the Spirit directs (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
• Discipleship – We endeavor to teach and equip the saints through preaching of the Word; teaching through Sunday School classes, youth, Wednesday night Bible Study, Children’s Church, Kids 4 Christ, and Small groups (future).  The goal of Preaching/Teaching is to make each believer a better disciple of Jesus Christ, to train and prepare current and future leaders, to find God’s purpose for each individual and to equip them to fulfill God’s purpose, and to make disciples who seek and pursue God out of a humble, thankful heart.
• Fellowship – Our vision is for Faith United Church to be a church that is in love with God, and with each other (Matthew 22:37-40).  So we seek to share that love with each other through one on one and entire church functions that reveals true Christian fellowship.  Fellowship is more than membership, but intimacy in Christ and with each other.
• Ministry – At Faith United Church we make it our mission to show God’s love to each other by serving each other.  Ministry is done through prayer, spiritual gifts, meeting needs, or just being there as a shoulder to cry on.  We want to minister to the needs of everyone within this Body of Believers.
• Evangelism – God has given us a mission field.  It is Hempstead, Waller county, our nation, and the entire world.  This is our call, and our focus.  We will train and encourage believers within this Body to share Jesus with the lost.  We want to see God move and turn our city and county upside down!  We want to be a part of what God desires.  We will also support those who do what we can’t, take the Gospel to the world.  Our goal through evangelism is to go to the world as well to proclaim the message of Christ.
